Jose Triviño Hernandez, is a man of Arts.
No doubt about it. He’s one of those artists, a one of a kind in this world of the new arts, who’s more interested in painting than defining in a couple of words what he can greatly portray in a handful of brushstrokes. When inquired, he plays around and states: Neo Realism, just to entitle what I do and playing being pretentious. He laughs… He does not buy that idea of art, he’s a true artist, and his art should define itself without any aid of lucubrations. His outstanding work is mainly done in canvass and acrylic. The natural motifs of inspiration that can be traced around his paintings get new meanings thru means of his compositions. Triviño seems to translate nature into a very modern up-to-date image that’s only his, without ever loosing the important connection an artist should have with his work and with the source of his inspiration, which in this case is without a doubt Nature. Having being born in the South of the South, as he himself refers to it, he moved to the country’s capital Santiago de Chile to undertake his superior studies in art. But unlike most students who come from small towns to the big cosmopolitan Santiago, Jose returned to his roots, to his home town of such immense beauty and aesthetic richness to develop in depth his craft, to apply truthfully what he had learnt, and to share with his community and the millions of yearly visitors that fall in love with Chiloe, his art, his view of the world. Having shown his works in and around the country, as well as abroad, Triviño is a recognized novel artist by his peers in the Arts as well as by his fellow Chilotas, because he manages to capture in his paint strokes some of the magic the Great Island has to offer to anyone who wishes to undergo the one-of-a-kind experience. Atop that, Triviño’s works also embellish world wide private collections taking the magic of Chiloe around the globe. This young artist still amazes us with his view of the world, so interesting, so powerful, so unique…
