Parera 68 is Pietro and Fernanda's concept of style. Our young and visionary friends work upon the concept of indigenous aesthetic. They've created Parera in a joint venture with local craftsmen and women of our country, and work together in the creation of new pieces with the ancient traditions of weaving, dying, knitting and design. Everything is based upon the natural concept of organic creation with the best input of modern times, tailored custom design. Parera 68 artesian and art has tapestry, banquets, rugs made out of pure sheep or lama wool that have been weaving by hand, llama wool hand knitted and loom knitted pieces. From Salta, Catamarca, La Pampa and Patagonia as well as from the provinces of Tucuman and Cordoba, local craftsmen and women work in this project to provide the best of their traditions in the best quality. This is a strong cultural project based on the communities that not only provide designers, architects and decorators from Argentina and around the globe to work with 100% original items but also allows the communities to continue developing their ancestral traditions and culture in Modern times. Their own designs privilege a novel treatment of color and pattern from Pre Inca Times updated in terms of modern aesthetic conceptions. Due to the concept behind this project, and given the fact that this is a general project carried on by Fernanda, Pietro and the communities, they have the possibility of confectioning custom made textiles, rugs, tapestry, covers and bedspreads, specially done for their customers. They are not dealers, or intermediate, they are the true and real thing thanks to their know-how and direct contact with the artisans; therefore they provide consultancy and developing services for designing, and conserving in perfect condition the chosen pieces. Approached as art in a broad sense of the term, Parera 68 offers a one of a kind ethnic approach to style and decoration for particulars and business men and women from around the globe.Their knowledge of the production process and the symbolic significance of each and every one of their pieces allow them to provide an interesting approach to design. Therefore, Pietro and Fernanda will be contributing to this blog with insightful details and information on the history of these items, the cultures that produce them and the conceptual design made by them.
