Helmets of the Deep Collectibles
Helmets of the Deep Collectibles
Alike Verne’s 20,000 leagues under the sea experience, diving into the deepness of the Ocean in the 21 century is much about discovering the unknown, being prepared to the most amazing experience. Its not that everything is the same as it was back in the early 1800s… but if something has changed very little since the world globalized and expanded is the bottom of the ocean. Even more if we go into the Antarctic waters in the Argentinean coastline. Unexplored regions for their specific location, for the wild weather and the harshness of the location. Frequently known through mystical stories, folklore tales and much imaginative popular sayings, this region is still filled with mystery, virgin rich lands of the deep, unexplored waters. If one turns to Verne’s original version –not adaptations- it appears very clear that this is not just a sci-fi novel, but also a guide book to those unknown seas. The impact of this story has been such to all those who love the ocean, and enjoy the pleasure of diving deep into the unknown exploring similar contexts as the ones Verne fantasized with, is much more interesting if done with vintage equipment, sort of a way of re living the most realistic side to the novel. Clubs around the world where Verne’s fans meet have gone through with the experience. When reading about them it’s impossible not to be filled with emotion, anxiety and the will of going through the wonderful experience. It’s amazing what happens when you find those outstanding diving helmets from the late 19th century in good conditions, able to be used. Going into the deepness in such antique garment is sort of a time machine, a ticket to an experience words come short to describe. Something is for sure, diving devises collectors do know much about a breath taking experience. This is not just a show room item mint just for admiration; it’s the key to a world that has gone by, that we haven’t had the chance to enjoy. And yet, better, we can enjoy in several different and new ways for we acknowledge our present. Its like if an archeologist could purchase some kind of vintage object that allowed him or her to re live from this present time, those prehistoric days of dinosaurs and tribes.
